Hi, I’m Sivamalar, and I’m 13 years old.
Sivamalar is a 8th-grade student studying at K/ Hindu National College in Pussellawa. She has an elder brother and as the youngest of the family, she has been loved and taken care of by her family. She walks 3 KM daily to and from school. Sivamalar lives in a tea plantation sector in Upcountry, Sri Lanka with her family. Her mother is working as an estate worker while her father is unemployed. Sivamalar’s mother’s small income is their only source of income to survive, which is insufficient to satisfy even their basic needs.
