Dhanusha is a 6th-grade student attending Carfax school in Hatton. She has an elder brother and he is waiting for his ordinary-level examination results. She is living in a tea plantation sector in Upcountry, Sri Lanka, and walks 2.5 KM twice a day to and from school. Her father is a bus conductor and her mother works in the tea plantation sector as an estate worker. Their small collective incomes are insufficient for them to satisfy the basic needs of the family.
