Rakshiya is an 8th-grade student studying at Cambridge school in Kotagala. She has an elder sister and an elder brother. As the youngest of the family, she has been taken care of by her siblings, parents, and grandmother. Rakshiya’s elder sister attends school, while her brother is working at a hotel in another city as a waiter. Her mother is unemployed and does all the household work. Rakshiya’s father works as a laborer at a shop in Colombo city. Her father and brother’s incomes collectively are still not enough to fulfill the most basic necessities.
