Hi, I’m Deepika, and I’m 11 years old.
Deepika is a 6th-grade student studying at Cambridge school in Kotagala. She is living in a tea plantation sector in the upcountry, Sri Lanka. She has a younger sister and she takes care of her all the time. Her mother works as an estate worker, and her father is a carpenter. Deepika’s parents put a lot of effort into educating their children so that they might go on to lead better lives in the future, but sadly, their meager wages are not enough to cover their necessities on a daily basis.
