Hi, I’m Saindavi, and I’m 10 years old.
Saindavi is a 5th-grade student studying at K/ Hindu Primary College in Pussellawa. She walks daily to and from school. Saindavi lives in a tea plantation sector in Upcountry, Sri Lanka with her family. She has a baby brother and her grandmother also lives with her family. Her mother is unemployed and takes care of all the household work and her little brother when she goes to school. Saindavi’s father is working in a pharmacy and his small income is their only source of income to survive.
