The majority of these children live in areas where there are no schools or even bus stops in close vicinity of their homes. Getting to school is quite difficult when they are usually over 5KM away with no access to public transportation. This means that they must walk over an hour to get to a bus stop or school. Many children – often girls, are exerted by their lack of food and water on these long treks to school.
